iPhone Coming to PEI (June 10 2007)
The iPhone release date has been announced and is due to be released on June 29th! The features (Wifi and a connection via your provider, among other things) sound really good I won't be the second person to purchase one in Charlottetown. I spoke with a local businessman who already made a down payment on a iPhone at the local mac shop.
The phone does not interest me due to the fact that the only provider that can carry the phone in town initially will be Rogers Wireless, which has horrible cell phone coverage on Prince Edward Island.
However on the flip side the lack of coverage is not Rogers fault, as they have tried
to setup more towers however due to public outcry on PEI, NIMBY (not in my back yard) which is normal for anything new to PEI.

This post is so wrong it is hard to believe it is still here.
The iPhone is at least a year away from being released in Canada.
You can have one in Canada - provided that you sign into the 2 year AT&T contract in the US. The average monthly cost is $500.00 after paying for the phone and leaving the deposit.
Yes - when it Canada it will switch to Rogers - but you are not paying Rogers.

Having been trained to provide support for the iPhone during the initial release - and having provided that support during the weeks after - trust me - there are far better phones (and cell packages) available in Canada.
